What
Plugins (add-on packages that extend Claude Code) can now send a notification through $.ui.notify. The notification is delivered through the terminal, using a channel such as iTerm2, kitty, Ghostty, or a plain terminal bell. Claude Code checks each message before sending it. If the plugin gives no title, the plugin's name is used.
Plugin tool descriptions also get a longer length limit once Claude loads the tool through tool search, which is how Claude finds and loads tools only when it needs them. When a description is cut short, the notice now mentions this longer limit.
Why
Plugin authors can tell you about something through a desktop-style notification, and they can write fuller tool descriptions for tools loaded on demand.
