What

Claude Code uses a shared option list for menus where you pick from choices. Letter keys in such a list can act as keyboard shortcuts. The list can now be set to treat itself as a text entry area, so letters and other printable keys go to a text box inside it instead of triggering shortcuts.

Why

This prepares for menus you can type into, for example to filter the choices, without your typing being swallowed as shortcuts.
