Unclear It is not stated what can hook into model switching, so it is unclear when this step applies.
What
In interactive mode, picking a model with /model, either from the picker or by typing it, can now go through an extra step before the switch. This step is used only when something has hooked into it. Through it:
a failed save of your default model is reported
the chosen model can be replaced with a different one
a refused switch is shown as a warning
The picker and the typed command now show the same "Model set to" notice, with a note when the model was saved as your default.
Before, both switched directly and only said whether the choice was saved.
Why
Model switching can now be enforced or redirected by whatever hooks into it. A model you pick may end up different from the one you chose, and the notice tells you what was set.
