Unclear Which model picker or screen uses the list the new Haiku 4.5 entry was added to is not known.
What
The list of models Claude Code ships with has moved from version 1760 to 1840, and the date it is good until has been pushed later. In one of its selection lists it now has an entry for claude-haiku-4-5-20251001 with its thinking mode set to extended. Thinking mode decides how much the model reasons before answering. That list did not have this entry before.
Why
Wherever this list is used, Haiku 4.5 is offered with extended thinking.
