What
MCP servers are add-on tool servers that connect to Claude Code. When one of their tools returns a result, that result can carry extra metadata alongside its content. Claude Code now keeps a result with empty content if it carries that metadata. Before, only results with non-empty content were kept.
Why
MCP tool results that carry only metadata are no longer thrown away.
