Unclear Whether the fallback path produces any visible difference is not known.

What

Claude Code formats Claude's replies as markdown while they stream in. Some text now goes through a fallback path instead of the normal formatter. This happens when it contains any of:

  • A bracket delimiter.
  • An HTML entity, such as &.
  • The ]( sequence used in markdown links.

The streaming formatter also now tracks whether text is free of links.

Why

This may change how text containing links or entities appears on screen.
