What

At the start of a remote session, Claude Code uploads your git repository's state. When git's shared index (a file git uses to track your working files) is too large, the message now tells you not to delete files by hand. Before, it suggested running git update-index --no-split-index. The too-large case is also reported separately.

Why

The guidance shown when this upload fails is different, so follow the new message rather than the old command.
