What

Permission rules tell Claude Code which actions to refuse (deny) or to check with you first (ask). The step that writes these rules into a settings document now takes one of several modes in place of a simple on/off switch. In restore mode it combines the rules in a different way, and in one other mode it does not write the document at all.

Why

This is internal handling of managed settings and adds nothing for you to set.
