Unclear It is not clear what the extra context changes for you when a late permission answer arrives.
What
Headless mode runs Claude Code without its interactive screen, for example from a script or a remote session. Sometimes a permission answer (your allow or deny for an action) arrives after the turn that asked for it has already ended. Claude Code holds such answers aside. Two things change:
- Held answers now have context queued alongside them, and that context is kept when an answer is dropped.
- Claude Code now records when a held permission request is closed without its tool ever running.
Why
This is a reliability fix for remote sessions, where an answer can reach Claude Code after the turn it belongs to has moved on.
