What

A linked git worktree is an extra working folder attached to an existing git repository. Folder trust is the approval you give before Claude Code works in a folder. For linked worktrees, Claude Code now checks that the folder holding the trust record for that worktree is the one it should be.

  • If it is a different folder, the check fails and the result is treated as possibly tampered with.
  • If that folder cannot be found, the check fails with "the folder that keeps this tree’s trust could not be resolved".
Why

This makes worktree trust harder to fool, so a worktree cannot borrow trust that belongs somewhere else.
