Unclear What the new permission-mode check affects is not known.
What
Compaction is when Claude Code summarises the earlier part of a long conversation to free up room. When a command says so, its output is now marked as repeating that compaction summary.
Separately, a check now skips its work when the permission mode is anything other than the default. The permission mode controls how often Claude Code asks before acting.
Why
Claude Code can now tell a repeated compaction summary apart from ordinary command output.
