What

Vim mode is an optional editing style for the Claude Code prompt that uses vim's keys. Its character-search motions f, t, F and T jump to the next or previous occurrence of a character. They now search only to the end or start of the current line. A line here means text up to a real line break, not where the text wraps on screen. Before, they searched the whole input.

Why

This matches how these motions work in real vim, so they no longer jump to a match on a different line.
