What

Autocomplete is the list of suggestions that appears under the prompt while you type. Claude Code can now ask plugins (add-ons that extend Claude Code) for suggestions as you type and show them as extra rows in that list.

  • Tab, Enter or a click picks a plugin's suggestion.
  • Plugin rows are merged into the existing suggestion list.
  • If a plugin fails, the error is logged and no row is added for it.

This lets plugins shape the prompt input itself, not only what happens after you send a message.
