What

A marketplace is a catalogue you install plugins from. Claude Code now contains an install flow used as claude plugin install <plugin> --marketplace <source>. If that marketplace has not been added yet, the flow adds it to your user settings. It then installs the plugin from that marketplace. It shows a usage error when --marketplace is used wrongly, and it can print its result as JSON.

Why

This would let you install a plugin from a new marketplace with one command instead of adding the marketplace first.
