Several parts of how Claude Code handles tasks now depend on a new switch:
- removing finished tasks
- deciding which tasks count as running in the background
- showing task notifications
With it, agents that are running or waiting but not in the background, and finished agents kept alive for an unusual reason, are handled differently.
