What

Auto mode lets Claude go ahead on more actions without asking you first. A proactivity level can choose it as the starting permission mode. Before, that choice took effect straight away. Now Claude Code first checks your organization's policy. If the policy result is still pending or cannot be trusted, auto mode is held back and a notice appears: auto mode didn't start because your organization's policy hasn't loaded, with Shift+Tab to switch modes.

The server setting behind this falls back to on when the server sends nothing. In readings taken before this release, the flag server returned off both for this site's account and for an anonymous account.

Why

Auto mode no longer starts before your organization's rules are known, so it cannot run ahead of a policy that might forbid it.

The flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.

This account: off · anonymous baseline: off · compiled default in v2.1.292: on

These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
