What
A symlink is a shortcut file that points to another file or folder. When Claude Code prepares a symlink for upload, it now keeps track of where the link sits. Previously it either used the link's target or refused the link as unreadable.
A link that leads outside its own folder is refused with the message "resolved outside its directory", and Claude Code records an event noting this.
A link that has moved is reported as moved.
Why
This stops a symlink from pulling a file outside the intended folder into an upload.
