What

When a very large block of text is shown in the Claude Code interface, Claude Code now draws only the first part of it, up to a fixed number of characters. The rest is not drawn, and the cut-off text ends with a note saying how many more characters were not shown.

Why

This keeps an unusually large piece of output from flooding the screen or slowing the interface down. If text looks shorter than you expected, the note at the end tells you it was trimmed for display.
