Unclear What difference this makes to someone using rewind is not clear.

What

Rewind takes the conversation back to an earlier point. To find that point, Claude Code used to match only the prompt you typed. It now has two fallbacks when that fails:

  • a summary written after compaction (when Claude Code condenses a long conversation into a shorter summary) that names the point
  • a turn that was started by a notification from a background task rather than by you
Why

Rewind may now work in situations where it previously could not find where to go back to.
