What
A transcript is the saved record of a conversation on disk. When Claude Code needs to rewrite a transcript file that is still being loaded, it now waits for the load to finish first. If the load makes no progress for a set time, it stops waiting and logs a warning starting "Transcript rewrite stopped waiting for".
Why
Loading and rewriting the same file at once can interfere with each other. Waiting keeps the two from clashing, and the warning tells you when a rewrite gave up waiting.
