Unclear The exact condition that starts the kill timer is not clear.

What

Claude Code starts other programs in the background for some of its work. Two things changed:

  • When one of these programs is cancelled, a timer now kills it if it is still running after a timeout.
  • When a program fails to start, the error now reads "Command failed with" followed by the error code and the command.
Why

This should mean fewer stuck background programs and error messages that say more about what went wrong.
