What

Skills are instruction files Claude can load, and they can contain shell commands that run when the skill is used. Claude Code now checks all of those commands before running any. If one fails the check, none run, and the error explains unprintable characters and CRLF line endings, the line ending style Windows editors often save files with.

Why

A skill file saved with Windows line endings now gives a clear error instead of running commands that may fail or misbehave.
