Unclear Exactly how the new tracking of subagent permission requests appears to the user is unclear.
What
In a remote or cloud session (Claude Code running on another machine while you watch from this one), several things changed:
- Connection status of the remote worker is now tracked as it changes, rather than only reacting when the worker disappears, which previously cleared background tasks.
- Permission requests from subagents (helper agents Claude starts to work on part of a task) are now tracked, and are marked closed when a turn ends.
- On connecting, any pending subagent permission requests already waiting are picked up and handled.
- Answers to a permission request from a background subagent no longer interrupt or end your current turn.
- Warning notifications now cut off text after a colon followed by a line break.
The message shown when your first message was not sent now reads: "You took your first message back. It wasn't sent to the cloud session."
Why
This changes how background tasks and permission prompts behave in remote and cloud sessions, in particular so that answering a background helper's question does not disturb the main conversation.
