What
When you switch models, Claude Code checks the model you chose. That check can now come back marked as unconfirmed, and in that case a model it would otherwise reject is accepted. A refusal because credits are needed is now only reported when the credits path actually applies.
Why
In some cases a model switch may now go ahead without the server having confirmed the model.
