Unclear It is not clear who or what sets the option that keeps subagent requests open.
What
A permission request is Claude Code asking you to approve an action before it runs. In a Remote Control session, any requests still waiting when a turn ends are dismissed. If the option subagentRequestsOutliveTheTurn is set, requests that came from subagents (helper agents Claude starts to work on part of a task) are now kept open instead. Before, every waiting request was dismissed.
Claude Code also records an analytics event, tengu_remote_turn_ended_with_open_permission_requests, with counts of the requests involved.
Why
Without this, a subagent still running after the turn ended could lose the approval it was waiting on, leaving it stuck. With the option set, you can still answer those requests.
