Unclear Exactly which pasted content this cleanup applies to is not clear.

What

When Claude Code tidies up pasted content, it keeps a paste that is still referenced. A paste now counts as referenced when a normalised version of it, the same characters written in a standard Unicode form, appears in your input or in other pasted content. Before, only an exact copy counted.

Why

Some characters, such as accented letters, can be stored in more than one way. Pasted text containing them should no longer be thrown away by mistake.
