What
Claude Code sometimes adds short system reminders, notes the model sees alongside your messages. There are two new kinds, and two existing ones take more information:
- Elapsed-time reminder: added when the model in use qualifies for it.
- Proactivity note: tells the model a proactivity level and a set of tools, or tells it that this has been withdrawn.
- Total-tokens reminder: now also takes a budget.
- Silent-turn reminder: now also receives the model in use and the current time.
Why
The model will receive new reminder text, which can change how it paces itself and how much it acts on its own.
