Unclear It is not clear which features use this base folder.

What

A glob is a path pattern with wildcard characters such as * or ?. To find the folder a glob starts from, Claude Code now always cuts the pattern at the first wildcard character and uses the parent folder, or /. It used to return the pattern unchanged when it was not a glob or when it was a valid one.

Why

Rules that use glob paths, such as permission or file-watching rules, may now resolve to a different folder.
