Unclear The exact rule that decides whether the image may be read is not clear.

What

When you drag an image file into Claude Code or paste its path, Claude Code now checks whether it has permission to read that file before loading it. Before, it always read the image.

If the check refuses, the path is passed on as ordinary text and the image itself is not loaded.

Why

Dragging or pasting a path can no longer make Claude Code read an image from a folder it has not been allowed to read.
