Claude Code builds a set of background notes about the session for the model. Two new ones can be added, and they replace an earlier note about model calls:
- Per-token cost: tells the model "The user pays per token for your turns, and wants the job done for what it needs and no more." It appears only when the remote setting
tengu_wobbly_dahlis on. - Bash call cost: a longer explanation of what each Bash call costs. Bash is the tool the model uses to run shell commands. It appears only when the Bash tool is available and the remote setting
tengu_velvet_moonis on.
Both settings fall back to off when the server sends nothing, so neither note appears unless switched on remotely. The flag server returned tengu_wobbly_dahl as off for this site's account and for an anonymous account, in a reading not taken under this release.
These notes are meant to push the model to group work into fewer Bash calls and spend fewer tokens.
