What

When Claude Code works out how wide a piece of text is on screen, it now expands tab characters and takes the text's wrapping mode into account. Before, it used one of two separate measuring methods depending on the wrapping mode.

Why

Text that contains tabs should now line up as expected, because the space it is given matches the space it takes when drawn.
