What
Remote Control lets you drive a Claude Code session from another device. Claude Code can fetch a large file attachment before it is actually needed, which is called a prefetch. The download now checks a reply from the server that says whether the file was already delivered. When the file had not been marked as seen and an internal check passes, Claude Code stops making further early downloads for the rest of the session.
Prefetch requests also now ask not to be stored in any cache, so each one fetches a fresh copy.
Why
In practice this changes how often Claude Code downloads attachments ahead of time during Remote Control sessions, cutting downloads the server says are no longer needed.
