The remote setting that decides whether Claude Code asks for extended usage past a usage limit, tengu_lantern_spool, now has one more case where Claude Code treats it as off. All of these must hold:
- the work is a workflow set to wait out the usage limit rather than continue
- extra usage is turned off for a real reason
- a second remote setting,
tengu_lantern_snuffer, is on
tengu_lantern_snuffer falls back to off when the server sends nothing. The separate check on tengu_smooth_harbor still runs first. The flag server has returned tengu_lantern_spool as off for this site's account and for the anonymous baseline.
Once switched on, a workflow that is meant to wait for your usage limit to reset would no longer ask for extended usage in the meantime.

These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
tengu_lantern_spool Off in both readingsThe flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.

What counts as extra usage being turned off for a real reason is not stated.
