What
Auto mode is a permission mode where Claude Code approves actions on its own after reviewing them. In cloud sessions, when an action is sent to you for approval instead, the prompt now gives a reason. Examples:
- Runs outside the sandbox. (The sandbox is the walled-off area actions normally run in.)
- This may change Claude Code's settings or credentials, so only you can approve it.
A general note that auto mode reviews the action before it runs in the cloud environment is left out of the reason shown.
Why
Approval prompts in cloud sessions tell you why your answer is needed, so you know what you are agreeing to.
