What
In a headless cloud session (one running on a remote machine with no screen of its own), a timer watches for silence on the connection and reconnects when nothing arrives. That timer can now pause while Claude has a question open for you, if its hold setting is on.
While it waits, Claude Code shows a notice that Claude is waiting for you to answer its request and will continue with your message once you do. Before, the timer reconnected on silence no matter what.
Why
Taking your time to decide no longer looks like a dropped connection and causes a needless reconnect.
