What

A plugin is an add-on for Claude Code, and a marketplace is a list of plugins you can install from. When Claude Code searches your marketplaces for a plugin and finds it, the result now goes through an extra step before it is used. If that step returns something, Claude Code uses it in place of the original result. Before, the result was used as found.

Why

In practice, the plugin entry Claude Code acts on may now differ from the one first found in the marketplace.
