What
Plugins can add hooks, small programs Claude Code runs at certain moments. These run in a background worker. Claude Code now counts how many times it starts that worker and records the count in its own timing information.
The code that decides where hooks read keyboard input from was also reorganised. It now records whether it used normal input, used the terminal directly, or could not get input, and why (in CI, under MCP, or no terminal available).
Why
This gives a record of how often the hook worker restarts. The input change looks like a reorganisation that does not change behaviour.
