What

Claude Code tells Claude about your environment at the start of a session. Before, it always included a Shell: line and an OS Version: line. Each is now included only when the value is known. One more line in that block is now also included only under some condition.

Why

The text sent to Claude changes for sessions where the shell or OS version is unknown, so Claude no longer sees an empty value for them.
