What
Hooks are scripts you set up to run automatically at certain points in a session. If building the device hooks away notice fails, Claude Code now reports "Device hooks: the away notice failed internally" and uses the default notice instead. The old notice's "Skipped:" list of problems is gone.
Why
A problem building the notice no longer breaks it outright; the feature carries on with the default.
