What

Claude Code tells apart the different places a session can run from, called surfaces. A session whose surface is remote_cowork is now treated as a remote Cowork session.

A related check that decides whether a session belongs to a set of surfaces used to answer yes outright under one condition. That shortcut is removed, so the answer now depends only on the session's surface.

Why

A feature that is limited to certain surfaces may now switch on or off differently for some sessions than it did before.
