What
A tool call is a request from Claude to use one of Claude Code's tools. For tools in the Artifact family, when a call fails because it uses an option or value that was offered earlier in the conversation but does not exist in the current session, the error now adds a note. The note says the option was offered earlier but is not available in this session, and to continue without it. Claude Code also records a usage event when this happens.
Why
This helps a resumed conversation recover when the options of these tools have changed since it started, instead of Claude retrying something that will keep failing.
