What

Claude Code keeps a global configuration file, a file on your computer where it remembers settings and small bits of state between uses. That file now has a new key, savedModelSuccessorShown. It sits in the same list as the keys that record which notifications and announcements you have already seen.

Why

The name and its placement suggest it records whether a notice about a successor to your saved model (a newer model that replaces the one you chose) has been shown to you, so that such a notice is not repeated. How Claude Code actually uses the key is not known.
