What
A heredoc is a way to feed several lines of text into a shell command, started with << or <<-. A backslash at the end of a line joins it to the next one. Claude Code reads shell commands before running them. It now rejects a command where the - only ends up next to << because of such a join. Before, it was accepted.
Why
This makes shell command checking harder to trick. A command written this way could be read one way by Claude Code and another way by the shell.
