What
Some Claude Code features, such as web setup and cloud sessions, need the Claude GitHub app installed on your repository. When the check for that app came back with no status, Claude Code used to treat it as "not installed".
Now it asks the server to check the repository again. When the server gives a reason, Claude Code shows an explanation, for example:
your GitHub organization only allows access from approved IP addresses (an IP allowlist)
your GitHub organization requires single sign-on (SSO)
your identity provider applies conditional access rules
Why
You should see fewer wrong "app not installed" messages, and when access really is blocked, the message tells you what to fix.
