What
Claude Code uses an internal helper to run git and other commands. It can now start those commands without a controlling terminal, meaning the command is not attached to the terminal window you are typing in. The helper also refuses to start a command while Claude Code is shutting down. In that case it reports that the process was not started because Claude Code was exiting, and suggests trying again after it restarts.
Why
This is an internal reliability change. If you see the message about Claude Code exiting, run the action again once Claude Code is back up.
