What
Claude Code asks git for the name of the branch you are on. It used to ask for the short name. It now asks for the full name, such as refs/heads/main, and then removes the refs/heads/ part itself before showing it.
Why
The full name always points to a branch. So a branch that has the same name as a tag should still be read as the branch.
