What
Claude Code can upload your working tree, meaning the files in your project folder, to the cloud. It refuses in some situations. Those refusals used to share one general message. They now have separate, reworded messages for more cases:
- The project's
.gitis a symbolic link (a shortcut to another location), which the upload does not follow. - A git pointer file is hard-linked, meaning the same file appears under more than one name.
- The project's own folder could not be examined at the time.
The message about git configuration files pulled in from elsewhere now lists which config files are checked. The messages no longer repeat your file paths or git folder locations back to you.
Why
If an upload is refused, the message tells you more precisely why, so it is easier to fix.
