What
When file sync is set up for a session, Claude Code tracks whether its first upload is still waiting. That now depends on whether Anthropic has switched file sync off remotely. It no longer depends on whether the sync is muted locally. The option to start sync in upload-only mode has also been removed.
Why
A muted sync is now still treated as owing its first upload. Only Anthropic's remote shutoff stops it.
