What
Directory file sync keeps a folder's files in step with a cloud session. Claude Code now checks whether sync is available at the start of each turn, meaning each time Claude begins responding. If Anthropic has switched sync off, Claude is told to let you know once. When it is switched back on, Claude tells you that too.
Why
File sync can be paused from Anthropic's side, and when that happens you hear about it from Claude instead of finding your files out of date.
