Leftover copies of the installed plugins file are now cleaned up

A cleanup routine now removes set-aside and unreadable copies of installed_plugins in the plugins folder instead of zip files in the shares folder

A cleanup routine that used to remove .zip files from a "shares" folder now removes files like these from the plugins folder:

  • installed_plugins.set-aside.<date>.<12hex>.json
  • installed_plugins.unreadable.<date>.<12hex>.kept

Here <12hex> is a 12-character code. Claude Code can also now check whether it is using the default plugins folder, which is only the case when CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_CACHE_DIR is not set.

Why

These file names suggest that a damaged installed plugins file is now set aside or kept rather than overwritten, and this routine clears away the leftovers.
